In 1989, McAllister Software Systems, Inc. developed the software system known as GlobalVet/AVImark®. It is now the leading Veterinary Practice Management Software in the USA and Canada with over 8,500 clinics relying on GlobalVet/AVImark® worldwide.

In 2000, Westville Veterinary Hospital became the first clinic in South Africa to purchase GlobalVet/AVImark®. In 2001, after much encouragement from Westville Veterinary Hospital, a trip was made to South Africa to meet with a few veterinary clinics. With this visit began the vision for establishing a South African office to market and support GlobalVet.Sugar Creek Software Systems was established in 2002, as an affiliate company to McAllister Software Systems, Inc.

AVImark® is the direct result of thousands of user requests, nudges, and suggestions over many years, so you'll find it specifically tailored to meet the needs of the modern veterinary practice. This input from our loyal customers has helped AVImark® continue to maintain the industry's highest customer satisfaction rating. McAllister Software Systems, Inc., have a team of more than 100 developers and support personnel in America and South Africa dedicated solely to their only product - GlobalVet/AVImark®.

GlobalVet has been modified to meet certain requirements for the South African marketplace.
